Spring…actual Spring is here. I picked up a nice bunch of tulips and daffodils today to try and convince myself that this is true.
What wine to serve with your turkey, ham, lamb or brunch. Try these suggestions:
- Turkey & Ham – Chardonnay or a nice crisp Sauvignon Blanc would be great for a white wine Pinot Noir or Zinfandel is recommended for red wine options.
- Lamb – A big red, such as a Cabernet Sauvignon or Australian Shiraz will balance the gaminess of the lamb. Whites are tricky with lamb, but you can just serve a favourite dry white
- Salmon – Dry riesling for the white and a fruity Pinot Noir for the white

A gorgeous nose of honeydew, peach and gooseberry is followed by a silky palate with white peach and mineral flavours and a long finish. Bright, crisp and inviting at three months it’s refreshingly complex and tropical, and will develop notes of basil and mint with age.

Did You Know?
Did you know that we have a breakfast wine? My Mum, Penny, calls the German Muller- Thurgau her breakfast wine, because it has a nice grapefruity finish. It is actually a Riesling blend that is just off-dry (1) and talks about flavours of green apples with a floral smoothness, but to my Mum’s taste-buds, it is grape fruit!
Great summer sipper if you want to try something new.
